After two years of starting meditation, I came to the conclusion that there are many types of myth in people about meditation
1. Some people think that doing meditation is very tough
2. Many say that this is not my cup of tea
3. Some say that we will try some other time
4. Some say that we tried but not able to concentrate
5. Some say that for us listening music is meditation
6. Many feel a headache after doing , so they don’t want to do
7. Some say that we are not able to manage the thought during meditation
8. Some say that we are afraid from bad thought during meditation
9. Even I met many people who are trying to meditation from a long period but not satisfied with that process
Some r doing meditation forcefully by concentrating their mind on the forehead
Some think that they don’t find a proper place for meditation
Some think that meditation can only be done in silence or in a dark room
Many started doing but leave in between because they are not getting a good result
And many more excuses………
But what I learnt from my teacher and from my experience that I want to share with you all
Doing meditation is not at all tough. This is a very simple process . The first & foremost important step for meditation is to make up your mind to do meditation by understanding its importance that as food is necessary for our body and exercise is important for physical fitness meditation is also must for mental fitness as well . This process is food for a healthy mind.
What I learned from Vivek (my instructor) is that nowadays we all are using smartphone and when we open many apps on a phone at a time then what happens, it starts consuming battery immediately, mobile get slow down, or in severe case it got hang down many times after excessive use so what we do ? We start deleting all background apps . Many times we close our mobile to give rest to the mobile or we start deleting unused data from the phone or we start shifting our data in the drive. In daily life, we become restless if our mobile goes switch off or not working properly, similar with our mind if we are in some worry or taking along many task at a time we become angry, irritate or start taking the wrong decision . At that time meditation helps us a lot. I think you people are surprised or thinking in mind that what rubbish amit is saying, what is the relationship between mobile phone and meditation
Look I am trying to tell you that both are very much similar because our mind is the world’s most beautiful and complex creation of god because no one in this world till now understood or decode it completly. From many researches, we came to know that till now on earth those are a super genius in past or in present only use 4 to 5% of their mind and rest still unused. So think about it that we common people may using only 0.1% mind in our day to day life because we never sit and think that what’s going in our mind , is our mind settled or not ? Or we are just passing the time or in flow as the time come . It is very much necessary to observe our mind, what’s going around in our mind and by the process of meditation we can give rest to mind so that we feel calm , happy, energetic, curious to learn more , interactive or communicative and make our day to day life more comfortable
How to meditate
Sit at one place , choose any sofa or a comfortable chair .Put your mobile on flight mode. If anyone to call or align for something do that first. If you are at the office or at home please align them all that you are going for 20 min break for a meditation (must) and tell them in detail that this is very important for u so they wont disturb you in this 20 min break. You can ask your family member or in office to attend if any bell rang on the door or any visitor come in between & they wont disturb you. It is advisable that whatever place you select for meditation must be clean , mild good fragnance is there that can be beneficial but not necessary.
Keep a glass of water with you in advance near you may you require immediately after meditation, keep your mind prepare in advance that during meditation may any disturbance can happen, may someone ring or knock on door , may someone call you by name as he can forget that you are meditating, may any kid at home start shouting, any one can forget to put his mobile on silent / flight mode in group meditation , may during that time you can listen the voice of utensils falling down by domestic helpers, I am writing in details these things because many people stop doing meditation or not getting good results only due to these distractions. When you are already prepare by a mind that if this may happen you will not get irritated or disturb & u will sit for 20 min even after that . In few days gripping start coming because it is very necessary to taste that experience of the lightness of mind or I say it is very necessary in starting to make a habit to sit first with ourself.
Soon after a few seconds or a minute after you sit for a meditation some thoughts come to you that you have to make a very important call to someone, or you have promised someone to give a quotation , you have to delegate a task to someone , your gas stove is on ,you forgot to close a door before sitting ,you have to make a payment of any consignment, your telephone or electricity bills are pending , after this you have to rush somewhere and many more .
My suggestion is that just be with that thought this will start disturbing you, may you start becoming restless or you want to open your eyes and eager to do that task. ( very imp.) if you feel that this thought or task is very very imp. For you and you can,t wait for the next 20 min. In that case, open your eyes and complete that task once and sit back again for meditation . Many people feel that this will not make a continuity or sitting again and concentrate again is a big challenge . But believe me only at this moment magic is hidden. Just give your mind a command that whatever happens , you will complete this rituals for the next 20 min. And one more thing this can happen even after 10 or 15 min , imp here is an awareness that you will complete this process and if you stick to this rule with in next few days you start feeling good.
For relaxation first start deep breathing at least 3 times slowly from left to right nose and then from right to left nose. This breathing supplies fresh oxygen to your mind , makes you feel relax and helps you in settling your mind. According to me, I can’t suggest you which method you opt for a mediation as all are different many choose om chanting in mind, some do mantras in mind , some only concentrate in the centre of the forehead, some do only breathing and concentrate on the air coming in or out from there nose . This choice is all yours . My point of focus is that during all this whatever thoughts comes in your mind just start observing them . Don’t push yourself forcefully for meditation, when you just sit and observe your thoughts your habit of sitting will improve and these same thoughts which disturb you in starting will give u a new way in life in future.
As many people say that during meditation whatever thoughts comes will disturb us and create a stress in our mind but actually what I learned is that thoughts are the by product of stress, first of all, we usually r busy in working and never sit alone with ourself & whenever we try to sit for a meditation thoughts start coming very very fastly and we. Are unable to manage that situation and immediately comes back or stop doing meditation and complain about those repititive thoughts coming to us. If we try to understand this process that why all the thoughts which r already in our mind comes only at this time . I will explain to you, because when you sit alone and give rest to your mind your gears of mind start rearranging itself and complete conditioning of mind start happening. I can give you an example when you go for a servicing of a car mechanic first put your car on a lift and and opens the engine valve to take out old engine oil and put new oil in a car ,same is a process of meditation first all the thoughts which are coming to your mind and disturbing you are same as black oil in a engine which need to change for better performance same are those thoughts which needs to visualise first and need filtration process of mind. These thoughts will not disturb u when you open your eyes , just visualise them and keep faith on me that this will make you more lighter which you never feel before. And one more thing if you are unable to solve that situation which is not in your hands in day to day life , atleast you became aware that these thoughts need solutions and they are consuming your mind bandwidth, and this is my personal experience that soon you will get answer or solutions too of all these thoughts , because nature is very powerful and all solutions and answers r within . The first basic step is to sit and give time to ourself.
After that when you keep on observing all the thoughts coming or revolving inside your mind may it happen that you can pick any one of that thought , till this time I am sure your breath is settled , your heart beat is normal, you start feeling little relaxed , and you are going deeper in that thought , in that thought may you start connecting or seeing the past or whatever had happen before that thought or ur mind start showing you the future of the same , just be with that thought ,this thought maybe good or bad but just be with that thought ,don’t force urself to overcome from here ,here your filtration process is happening ,may this thought will remain with you for next few seconds or for more minutes or immediately shifts you to any other thought ,just be natural , let the thought comes in or out, just be with that and keep on observing. This is the same as black oil whatever in the engine in any parts is there is coming out
Now may you are thinking that when you will put new oil in the engine, when all the old oil comes out , here there r 2 steps or idealogy . 1) in primarily stage we have to clean our mind first and in the second stage, new ideas or solutions start coming at the same time as we regularly practice and that is like a new energy or oil to us which will keep u always positive throughout the day. What I feel is that all the solutions or answer comes during this time and I implement in my life r correct and gives me immediate success in life . And if some r wrong that doesn’t hurt me or gives me regret in life
This is just a starting of the journey which I shared with you and guarantee you that this will gives you extreme happiness, as I can say that I want to be a good learner in life and I m already in learning many things in professional and personal life but it is very very imp. To learn to visualise our mind and our soul first

Some of you will start getting the result immediately some will get a little late but this is sure that you will get daily a new experience , there. Are many saying we had head (better late then never) or (if you want to start something just start doing it immediately because waiting for right time for doing never comes) when I last met raja harris head of tm organisation of asia he only give me one message that amit tm (meditation) is a very beautiful process and your job is to just do it again and again without fail thats it.
